It started raining today, and the weatherman insists it's going to change from rain, to freezing rain and sleet, over to snow tomorrow evening and snow at least part of the day Christmas Day. Youngest Sis moved back Christmas Eve dinner an hour to accommodate the weather, so when we leave to go home the roads hopefully won't be too bad.

Right now the initial forecast is 3"-6", but I'm still waiting for the storm to move just enough to miss us, and it'll all go north instead. On the other hand...Snow! On Christmas! The last time the KC area had 1" of snowfall or more on Christmas was back in 1962. We've had other Christmases where there was already snow on the ground, or where it flurried, but...

OMG so I had a very strong urge to draw Merlin art! Lucikly I had some good prompts. :D From derryere's prompt: Arthur (drunkenly!) decides he wants a Christmas tree in his room and it's the middle of the night and there's just no way, NO WAY, so, being the rational dude that he is, he makes Merlin wrap himself in a green curtain and stand by the fireplace as he decorates him. With, like, pine cones. And glitter! MEDIEVAL GLITTER. And his crown, maybe, if he's really that far gone. Okay I forgot the medieval glitter :( :( :(

I spent today baking the cookies I'd planned to do over the weekend. The chocolate crackles came out just fine, but the gingerbread men insisted on falling to pieces. I have some whole ones, but I have a second plate filled with body parts. They're still tasty though. I still need to figure out where I went wrong...

Hubby woke up with a cold. We're supposed to go to Youngest Sis' house for Christmas Eve, so he'll probably be over the worst of it by then, but now I'm just waiting to come down with it myself.

It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow, most of the day Christmas Eve, change over to snow Christmas Eve night, and snow on Christmas Day. I'll believe it when I see it. I still fully expect the system to track wherever it needs to go to ensure my neck of the woods gets little to no snow, as what usually happens.

However! I've finally had a chance to do some catching up on my smutty_claus reading!

Happy Winter Solstice to everyone else!

Yay! My Yuletide fic is finished and submitted! I'm reaaalllly wibbly about it, as it's a fandom I've never written in, and I'm afraid the story was a little too basic. We'll see, I guess!

And, after writing four stories in three weeks, I am officially taking the rest of this week off to enjoy Christmas activities, read and review the slew of fic I've missed, and let my brain rest. However, the day after Christmas, it's back to writing, this time my charlieficathon story.

Oh, and I finally saw the Star Trek reboot on DVD...and felt no desire to write fic afterward. *is instantly defriended by the ST portion of the f-list* Maybe I just need a few more viewings? Chekov is adorable...

This will likely hurt tomorrow. BUT I FEEL ACCOMPLISHED. We haven't had this much snow since I moved here, and I don't remember the last time it snowed this much in December. I think it was close to two feet. And it's GORGEOUS, perfect, heavy, fluffy snow, ideal for sledding and building things and making angels and snowballs. It's just that there was tons of it.

Also, I don't think the sun reflecting off the snow was good for my face.
